Baseball Recap: Tate Takes a Loss

Tate suffered their biggest defeat since April 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the West Florida Jaguars, falling 12-2. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Aggies' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Connor Dethlefs was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Tate and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for West Florida, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Looking ahead, Tate will face off against Crestview at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tate is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season. As for West Florida, they will take on Navarre at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Florida also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.5 runs per game.
