Soccer Game Preview: Boswell vs. Lake Ridge

The Boswell Pioneers will head out on the road to challenge the Lake Ridge Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boswell's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Boswell fell victim to Weatherford and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kangaroos. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 398th, while the Kangaroos are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Lake Ridge made sure to put some goals up on the board against Mansfield Legacy on Friday. They blew past the Broncos 7-2. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten games by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Mansfield Legacy with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kyleigh Pete (2), Emery Dominguez (2), Kamoree Slater (2), and Ava Billingsley.

Lake Ridge pushed their record up to 13-3-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those three contests. As for Boswell, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Boswell came up short against Lake Ridge in their previous matchup back in February, falling 2-0. Can Boswell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
