Softball Recap: Addison Trail Comes Up Short

Addison Trail was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 21-5 to the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers. The Blazers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Madeline Housley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Gutierrez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Addison Trail's record now sits at 1-11. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Addison Trail will face off against Proviso East at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something the Blazers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, they will take on Wheaton North at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
