Basketball Game Recap: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. Sandia Prep Sundevils

The Bloomfield Bobcats lost to the Sandia Prep Sundevils back in December of 2022, but the Bloomfield Bobcats didn't allow the Sandia Prep Sundevils the same satisfaction on Thursday. Bloomfield walked away with a 60-47 win over Sandia Prep. With that victory, Bloomfield brought their scoring average up to 52.3 points per game.

Leading Bloomfield to victory were Andrew Florez and Xavier Abernathy. Florez scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals, while Abernathy dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Florez's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Slivers, who scored 12 points.

Bloomfield's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Sandia Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Bloomfield will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bernalillo at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Bernalillo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Bloomfield likes a good challenge. As for Sandia Prep, they will be playing at home against St. Pius X at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
