Baseball Recap: Battle Mountain Takes a Loss

After flying high against Moffat County on Saturday, Battle Mountain came back down to earth. The Husky came up short against the Coal Ridge Titans on Tuesday, falling 16-3. The Husky have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Battle Mountain saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wake Youngblood, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Battle Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for Coal Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Battle Mountain will be playing at home against Summit at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Husky's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Coal Ridge, they will head out to take on Moffat County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.2 runs per game on average), something the Titans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
