Volleyball Recap: Southampton Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Paisley Benson and Makayla Johnson

Southampton lost against Southampton Academy back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Indians lost 3-0 to the Raiders.

While Southampton ultimately came up short, they really made Southampton Academy work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 27-25, 25-17.

Makayla Johnson and Paisley Benson certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Johnson had four aces and one block, while Benson had five aces.

Southampton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Southampton Academy, they moved to 2-4-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Southampton and Southampton Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Indians see the court they'll take on Greensville County at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th. As for Southampton Academy, their break will end when they face Tidewater Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 9th.
