Softball Recap: Zavalla Comes Up Short

Zavalla fell victim to Brookeland and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 24-0 to the Brookeland Wildcats. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Summer Ogden made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

Zavalla's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Brookeland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zavalla will venture away from home to face off against Kelly Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Zavalla has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Brookeland, they will head out on the road to square off against Chester at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Brookeland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
