Recap: Hilltop Christian Chargers vs. Liberty Christian Academy Heat
The Hilltop Christian Chargers lost against the Liberty Christian Academy Heat back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hilltop Christian took a 41-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty Christian Academy.
When it comes to explaining why Hilltop Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Meleah Bell. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points.
Liberty Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison Shifflett, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and two steals. Shifflett also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Minner, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Hilltop Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Liberty Christian Academy, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10.
Hilltop Christian will face off against Bethel Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Southeastern Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Southeastern Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 47 last Thursday.
