Softball Recap: Shawnee Golden Eagles vs. Valley Vikings
Shawnee extended their losing streak to nine on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They came up short against the Valley Vikings, falling 22-14. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in April.
As for Valley, with the victory, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-17. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 21st (when they won 18-9).
For Valley's part, Abigail Muncy was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Muncy has posted since back in March. Isabella Brown was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawnee will host DuPont Manual at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valley, they will take on Seneca at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
