Volleyball Recap: Waldorf Mavericks vs. Latino College Preparatory Academy Golden Eagles
Waldorf had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Latino College Preparatory Academy Golden Eagles.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-8, 25-10.
Latino College Preparatory Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Melany Sedano led the charge by getting seven kills and seven aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Lomeli, who had eight kills and five aces.
Latino College Preparatory Academy's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waldorf will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while.
