Baseball Recap: Tracy Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Tracy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kimball Jaguars a 3-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 7-6 win last Wednesday.

Not much got past Jace Johnson, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Kimball off the board. Furthermore, Johnson didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacoby Freitas, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Tracy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kimball, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
