Softball Game Preview: Eufaula Tigers vs. Pike County Bulldogs

The Eufaula Tigers will take on the Pike County Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for Eufaula's offense. They came up short against Saint James on Friday, falling 9-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Pike County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 12-6 to Dale County.

Pike County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailia Beacham, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Beacham hit this season.

Eufaula's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Pike County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Eufaula hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .398. However, it's not like Pike County struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Eufaula's way against Pike County when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Eufaula made off with an 11-0 victory. Will Eufaula repeat their success, or does Pike County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
