Baseball Recap: East Duplin Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

East Duplin had won four straight at home, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 12-6 to make it five. They came out on top against the Rosewood Eagles by a score of 5-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

East Duplin got a great performance from Kyle Kern as he struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Kern has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, East Duplin saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sawyer Marshburn, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Cain Graham, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Rosewood, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Rosewood's side, Jack Adams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

East Duplin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-4 defeat against C.B. Aycock on the 22nd. As for Rosewood, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-3 victory against South Lenoir on the 22nd.
