One team took the elevator way up and another took it way down in the power rankings this week. A special shoutout goes to Havelock's senior Anthony Harris, who scored six total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Havelock's 49 - 24 win over J.H. Rose last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Anthony Harris. Harris rushed for 187 yards and three touchdowns. That performance made Harris one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The clash of the power ranking titans last week was between David W. Butler (15th in the power rankings) and Richmond (8th). David W. Butler took its game against Providence by a confident 42 - 21 score. Unfortunately, David W. Butler's success didn't carry over into the power rankings, where it took a seven-spot dive.
Movin on Up
Cleveland managed to bank 119 more yards than its opponent Cardinal Gibbons last week, and going the extra distance paid off. Cleveland was able to grind out a solid victory over Cardinal Gibbons, winning 44 - 35. Cleveland had two big standouts, as junior Jalen Chadwick ran for 119 yards and also punched in two touchdowns, while junior Darius Ocean tossed the ball for 379 yards and two TDs. The success catapulted Cleveland 15 spots up the power rankings, enough to make it the biggest riser of the week.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Weddington (13th in the power rankings) and Crest (20th). The last time they met, Sun Valley won by the skin of its teeth to claim a 20 - 19 success. Will Weddington avenge its loss? We'll find out soon enough.
