Basketball Game Preview: Le Mars Bulldogs vs. MOC-Floyd Valley Dutchmen

The Le Mars Bulldogs will challenge the MOC-Floyd Valley Dutchmen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row dating back to last season, Le Mars turned things around against Sioux Center on Monday. They walked away with a 67-60 victory over the Warriors. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Warriors are ranked 46th).

Meanwhile, MOC-Floyd Valley had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They blew past the Orabs 77-27. The Dutchmen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 24 points or more this season.

MOC-Floyd Valley pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Le Mars, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Le Mars came up short against MOC-Floyd Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 62-51. Can Le Mars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
