Maine South barely beat Evanston the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildkits an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Not much got past Connor Griffin, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Evanston off the board. Griffin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Evan Adamczewski was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Luka Stojakovic, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

Maine South's record now sits at 17-14. As for Evanston, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-15.

Maine South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildkits: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
