Basketball Recap: Petal Skates Past Purvis with Ease

There's no place like home for Petal, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging a 64-35 victory over the Purvis Tornadoes. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panthers had established a 25-point advantage.

Purvis' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ta'Shaun Gray, who posted 11 points, and Kace Spicer, who had four points and seven rebounds.

The win got Petal back to even at 2-2. As for Purvis, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Petal has already played their next game, a 53-48 loss against Wayne County on the 11th. As for Purvis, they will square off against Forrest County Agricultural at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
