Loogootee was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Washington Hatchets 3-2. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hatchets, too.

Loogootee wouldn't go down easily and took Washington into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 28-26, 23-25, 21-25, 25-15, 15-11.

The win snapped Loogootee's losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 8-12 record. As for Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.

Loogootee will face off against Terre Haute South Vigo at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Washington, they will challenge Tell City at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
