Baseball Recap: Modoc Has No Trouble Against Burney

Modoc had won three straight at home, but on Saturday they bumped up to 6-8 to make it four. They put the hurt on the Burney Raiders with a sharp 11-0 victory. The matchup marked the Braves' most dominant win of the season.

Modoc got a massive performance out of Trustin Thomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Sam McCandless was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Modoc always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

As for Burney, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. The game marked the first time this season in which they were not able to get on the board.

On Burney's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oran Covert, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Modoc wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-4 victory against Non Varsity Opponent on the 11th. As for Burney, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Los Molinos on the 14th.
