Grosse Pointe North took a six-run  defeat the last time they faced off against St. Clair, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Norsemen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  4-2  victory over the Saints  on Wednesday. The  win was some much needed relief for the Norsemen as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
 Brandon Keyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Grosse Pointe North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jacob Jarackas, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run.
Grosse Pointe North's victory bumped their record up to 4-19-1. As for St. Clair, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record  this season.
