Baseball Game Preview: Apollo Eagles vs. Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers

The Apollo Eagles will challenge the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Breckinridge County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Apollo, who comes in off a win.

Apollo barely beat Henderson County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Apollo's way against Henderson County on Monday as Apollo made off with an 8-1 win.

Carter Kimmel looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Apollo got a massive performance out of Jagger Pate, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Garrett Lanham, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Apollo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Henderson County only posted a batting average of .087.

Meanwhile, Breckinridge County didn't have quite enough to beat Edmonson County on Tuesday and fell 7-6. The loss was the Fighting Tigers' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Breckinridge County fell to 2-1. As for Apollo, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Apollo took their win against Breckinridge County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0. Does Apollo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Breckinridge County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
