Preview: North Tahoe Lakers vs. Sierra Lutheran Falcons
The North Tahoe Lakers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Sierra Lutheran Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully North Tahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Last Friday, North Tahoe humbled Coral Academy of Science - Reno with a 51-24 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory North Tahoe has managed all season.
North Tahoe found their leader in underclassman Anders Koijan , who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Rowin Springsteel was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sierra Lutheran's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. Their rough 65-40 defeat to Incline might stick with them for a while. Sierra Lutheran has struggled against Incline recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
North Tahoe's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Sierra Lutheran, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Everything went North Tahoe's way against Sierra Lutheran when the teams last played back in December of 2021 as North Tahoe made off with a 55-29 victory. Will North Tahoe repeat their success, or does Sierra Lutheran have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
