Basketball Recap: Lee Grant's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Del Norte over Las Cruces

Del Norte was the 64-57 winner over Las Cruces when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Del Norte Knights lost to the Las Cruces Bulldawgs at home by a 60-43 margin on Saturday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lee Grant, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Francois Satchivi, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 12 points.

Del Norte's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Las Cruces, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Del Norte will take on Menaul at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Del Norte is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. As for Las Cruces, they will venture away from home to take on Atrisco Heritage Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Atrisco Heritage Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Las Cruces likes a good challenge.
