Soccer Recap: Cape Fear Academy Comes Up Short

After soaring to four goals the game before, Cape Fear Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Topsail Pirates by a score of 1-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Cape Fear Academy of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Cape Fear Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Topsail, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-1-2 record this season.

Cape Fear Academy will face off against New Hanover at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Topsail, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Dixon on the 28th.
