Soccer Recap: Cape Fear Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Greenfield last Wednesday, Cape Fear Academy came back down to earth. The Hurricanes fell just short of the Topsail Pirates by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. If Cape Fear Academy were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to Topsail when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cape Fear Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Topsail, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-1-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cape Fear Academy will head out to square off against New Hanover at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Topsail, they will venture away from home to take on Dixon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
