Baseball Game Preview: Line Mountain Eagles vs. Halifax Wildcats

Line Mountain is 2-8 against Halifax since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Eagles will welcome the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m.

Line Mountain is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Susquenita, falling 8-0.

Meanwhile, Halifax was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Newport with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Will Steinhauer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cohen Bechtel, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Halifax always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newport only posted an OBP of .304.

The victory made it two in a row for Halifax and bumps their season record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Line Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
