Baseball Game Preview: Lennard Longhorns vs. Brandon Eagles

The Lennard Longhorns are taking a road trip to square off against the Brandon Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lennard came up short against Durant on Thursday, falling 9-2. The Longhorns have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lennard got a good showing from Christian Skaggs, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Skaggs has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Brandon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Freedom.

Jacob Sjerven was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Lennard's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Brandon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Everything went Lennard's way against Brandon in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Lennard made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lennard since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
