Basketball Game Preview: Independence Blue Devils vs. Field Falcons

Independence has won three straight games at home, while Field has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Independence Blue Devils will host the Field Falcons at 6:15 p.m. Field took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Independence, who comes in off a win.

Independence is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Brooklyn, posting a 54-15 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Blue Devils have posted since January 10, 2024.

Meanwhile, Field opened the new year with a less-than-successful 52-40 loss to Streetsboro. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Field's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Independence, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Independence was taken down by Field 65-23 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024.
