Compton Early College waltzed into their contest on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Animo City of Champions Wildcats with a sharp 16-2 win. That's two games straight that the Rising Phoenix have won by exactly 14 runs.

Compton Early College's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.3 runs over those games. As for Animo City of Champions, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Compton Early College will take on Garden Grove at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Animo City of Champions does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
