Basketball Recap: Kaden Zachary's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Iredell over West Rowan + How To Watch

North Iredell lost against West Rowan back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Raiders took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The loss was the Raiders' first of the season.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaden Zachary, who posted 17 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Bunton, who scored six points and 15 boards.

Josiah Young continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Rowan, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. Young has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Queen, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 11 points along with five boards and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, North Iredell fell to 4-1. As for West Rowan, their record is now 2-3.

Looking ahead, North Iredell will challenge West Wilkes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will be up against the Blackhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 66 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for West Rowan, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-54 victory against Statesville on the 8th.
