Basketball Recap: Cloudland Comes Up Short

If Cloudland was riding high fresh off their 65-20 takedown of University School last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cloudland Highlanders fell 53-43 to the Unaka Rangers on Saturday. The Highlanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rangers earlier this season, when they won 52-46.

Leading Unaka to victory were Michelle Shields and Lauren Lund. Shields posted 21 points and six assists, while Lund went 6-for-8 to rack up 16 points. That's the most points Lund has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Campbell, who had five points.

Cloudland has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-14 record this season. The win (which was Unaka's third in a row) raised their record to 21-8.

As of now, neither Cloudland nor Unaka have any future games scheduled.
