Softball Recap: Seymour Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

While Seymour didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Henryville Hornets 2-1. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Owls have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Taylor Stuckwisch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Seymour saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Followell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Macie Rawls also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Seymour's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-1. As for Henryville, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Seymour will head out to face off against Columbus North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Henryville, they will welcome New Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
