Soccer Recap: King Takes a Loss

King was the 3-2 winner over Santiago when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The King Wolves took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Santiago Sharks on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Sharks are ranked 131st).

King now has a losing record at 5-6-4. As for Santiago, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King and Centennial will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. King's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. Santiago has already played their next contest (against Norco), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
