Basketball Recap: Gordon Lee Takes a Loss

If Gordon Lee was feeling good fresh off their 83-40 takedown of Dalton Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gordon Lee Trojans took a 72-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgeland Panthers on Friday. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 61-56.

It was another big night for TJ Foster, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and 11 boards for Ridgeland. That makes it six consecutive games in which Foster has scored at least a third of Ridgeland's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarcus Lewis, who posted ten points along with seven boards and five assists.

Gordon Lee suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 5-7. As for Ridgeland, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.

Gordon Lee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-61 defeat against Heritage on the 21st. As for Ridgeland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-67 loss against Chattooga on the 21st.
