The matchup between Marion and Salem on Monday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. Marion put the hurt on Salem with a sharp 15-8 win. Marion might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Marion, bringing their record up to 21-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 20-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marion will host Centralia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salem, they will welcome Mattoon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
