Recap: Nanih Waiya Warriors vs. Ethel Tigers
There's no place like home for The Nanih Waiya Warriors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 30-22 victory over Ethel on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Nanih Waiya, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Defeat or not, Ethel got some senior leadership from Bobo Hubbert who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns and Marcus Jones who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Jones was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards.
Nanih Waiya's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Ethel, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nanih Waiya will take on Velma Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Velma Jackson's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. As for Ethel, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Noxapater at 7:00 p.m.
