Baseball Game Preview: South Miami Cobras vs. Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions

The South Miami Cobras will venture away from home to square off against the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Wednesday, South Miami didn't have quite enough to beat Keys Gate and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Cobras have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Immaculata-La Salle got the win against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-1. The Royal Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Immaculata-La Salle has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. South Miami dropped their record down to 5-7-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Everything went South Miami's way against Immaculata-La Salle in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as South Miami made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Miami since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
