Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Lutheran Comes Up Short on the Road Against Waverly

Lincoln Lutheran kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waverly Vikings. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 22-25, 25-23, 25-14.

Mckenzie Sidlo paced Lincoln Lutheran's offense, picking up 11 kills. Sidlo got some help from Bella Sjuts and her 28 assists.

Waverly was led to victory by Emmalyn Quinn and Ansley Real. Quinn had 25 digs and two aces, while Real had ten digs. That's the most aces Quinn has posted since back in October of 2024.

Looking ahead, Lincoln Lutheran will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Douglas County West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waverly, they will head out on the road to challenge Ashland-Greenwood on Tuesday.
