Baseball Recap: Bruton Takes a Loss

Bruton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to the Grafton Clippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

Bruton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Kelly, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Bruton's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Grafton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Bruton will square off against New Kent at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grafton, they will head out on the road to square off against Kellam at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
