Softball Recap: Arkadelphia Gets the Win

After losing to Magnolia the last time they met, Arkadelphia decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Badgers walked away with a 7-2 win over the Panthers on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Badgers.

Megan Grace Farrar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Annabelle Davis and Addy Cauldwell did most of the damage at the plate: Davis scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Cauldwell went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those two runs gave Davis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Aultman, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Arkadelphia's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Magnolia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Arkadelphia will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against De Queen at 4:30 p.m. The Leopards' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Badgers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Magnolia, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-3 win against Parkers Chapel on the 14th.
