Volleyball Recap: Village Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Talia Mardrussian and Izzy Aragon

Village Christian was the 3-1 winner over South Pasadena when they last played one another on September 2nd, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Village Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Izzy Aragon and Talia Mardrussian. Aragon had 12 digs and four assists, while Mardrussian had six digs and one assist. Eileen Herrera also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Among those leading the charge was Ella Garner, who had 12 digs and six assists. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matches.

Village Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for South Pasadena, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-9 record.

Village Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against La Canada on the 20th. As for South Pasadena, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Rancho Cucamonga on the 20th.
