Flag Football Recap: Thursday's Win Is Union Grove's Third in Last Four Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Locust Grove, Union Grove was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Dutchtown Bulldogs a 6-0 shutout. The Wolverines were shut out 6-0 the last time they took on the Bulldogs, so the Wolverines were just returning the favor.

Union Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games. As for Dutchtown, they dropped their record down to 1-8-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Union Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-6 defeat against Hampton on the 13th. As for Dutchtown, they will square off against Eagle's Landing at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 11.6 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
