Soccer Recap: Chase Comes Up Short

If Chase was riding high fresh off their 4-0 takedown of R-S Central last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans fell 2-0 to the Hibriten Panthers on Monday. While losing is never fun, Chase can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 321st, while Hibriten are ranked 136th).

Chase has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-3 record this season. As for Hibriten, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Chase is set to square off against their familiar foe East Rutherford at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hibriten will take on rival Draughn at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
