Recap: Agoura Chargers vs. Moorpark Musketeers
The Agoura Chargers lost against the Moorpark Musketeers back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Agoura was dealt a 55-28 loss at the hands of Moorpark. It was the first time this season that Agoura let down their fans at home.
Despite the defeat, Agoura had strong showings from Harrison Novak, who threw for 318 yards and two touchdowns, and Brady Dieffenbach, who picked up 112 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Dieffenbach was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 63 yards. Tyler Starling made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Luke Cochran was his usual excellent self, rushing for 322 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per carry. Cochran hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Hensley, who threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
Moorpark's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Agoura's QB won't forget Nicholas Andrade anytime soon given Andrade sacked him seven times.
Agoura has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-3 record this season. As for Moorpark, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Agoura will square off against Burroughs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Burroughs will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Moorpark, they will head out on the road to face off against Yorba Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yorba Linda knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Moorpark likes a good challenge.
