Baseball Recap: ThunderRidge Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but ThunderRidge ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Valor Christian Eagles 7-6.

Cameron Carpinello looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for ThunderRidge: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shane Christy, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Kyle Zebroski was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

ThunderRidge's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Valor Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

ThunderRidge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-0 loss against Castle View on the 14th. As for Valor Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Chatfield on the 15th.
