The Elite Prep Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Elite Prep Academy is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Elite Prep Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-50 to Forest Lake Academy.

Despite their loss, Elite Prep Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kirk Duhaney, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Duhaney has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Torres, who posted 13 points and six boards.

Melbourne Central Catholic has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 68-60 to Morningside Academy on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Hustlers have lost by exactly eight points.

Elite Prep Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.

Elite Prep Academy came up short against Melbourne Central Catholic when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 49-43. Can Elite Prep Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
