Softball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against De La Salle, Thomas Jefferson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Covenant Christian Academy Lions 12-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Thomas Jefferson considering their one-run performance the match before.

Celeste Ward was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Thi Nichols also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Thomas Jefferson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Thomas Jefferson's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Covenant Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Coincidentally, Thomas Jefferson and Covenant Christian Academy will both be playing Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy the next time they take the field. Thomas Jefferson will host Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Covenant Christian Academy will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
