FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - the Suns scored 35 points in the first quarter to secure a big 56-0 victory over Eagle's View (Jacksonville, Fla.) on Saturday.
University scored on a touchdown pass by
Mike White to
Jordan Cunningham, a defensive touchdown, a
Jordan Scarlett touchdown run, a White touchdown pass to Cunningham and a touchdown run by
Donice "DJ" Woods in the quarter.
UHS was up 49-0 at the half after taking the lead on a White touchdown pass to Cunningham in the first quarter.
The Fort Lauderdale school expanded its lead to 56 points entering the fourth quarter. The Suns scored once in the quarter on a
LaJuan Hunt touchdown run.
White played well for University in the victory. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
UHS had given up an average of 9.6 points prior to the contest. The zero points that the Warriors ended with were well below their average of 30.5 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Eagle's View, which notched a 53-13 victory over St. Francis Catholic in its previous outing.
Eagle's View (4-5) goes up against Hilliard when it takes the field next week. The Red Flashes go into the week with a record of 6-3.
