Monahans comes up short despite Cheno Navarrette's strong performance

The Monahans Loboes were the 59-42 winner over the Andrews Mustangs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Monahans fell just short of Andrews by a score of 50-48. Monahans has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Monahans lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Cheno Navarrette. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with seven steals and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Navarrette has scored all season. Kyle Vanek was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Monahans' loss dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Andrews, their win bumped their record up to 12-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monahans will take on Greenwood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 752 points over their last ten matchups. As for Andrews, they will head out on the road to face off against Seminole at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seminole is coming into the game with seven straight wins at home, so Andrews is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
