Volleyball Recap: Kenna Arthur Key Part of Team Effort in Grizzlies Win + How To Watch

After losing to Kettle Falls the last time they met, Newport decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Newport took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12, 25-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenna Arthur, who had 14 assists. Those 14 assists gave Arthur a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayla Earl, who had seven kills.

Newport was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in three consecutive contests.

Newport's record now sits at 7-5. As for Kettle Falls, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Newport will challenge St. George's at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kettle Falls, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Republic on the 4th.
