Basketball Game Preview: Jackson County Panthers vs. Alcovy Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Jackson County Panthers take on the Alcovy Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Jackson County is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Jackson County is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 2, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt a 72-45 loss at the hands of Winder-Barrow. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Bulldoggs are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alcovy). They breezed by Mount Pisgah Christian to the tune of 95-65 two weeks ago. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

The victory snapped Alcovy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record. As for Jackson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
